New release – ask your needlework store for a copy!
I have a fondness for collective nouns, those wonderfully evocative terms for groups, like a ‘parliament’ of owls, or a ‘murder of crows’, and I was so tickled to discover that the collective noun for a group of hummingbirds is a ‘charm’!

And so I created this design, with my own little ‘charm’, dancing above some lilies on a warm Summer’s day (it’s so cold here now, I was wishful thinking). The finish is my take on a Georgian Pinwheel – after a retreat design I created recently. This finish is so easy and simple to make, I just had to share it with you.
The chart comes with finishing instructions and a template (so there’s minimal measuring!) and these pinwheels are perfect for popping into your project bag, giving as a gift, or creating for a smalls exchange, if you’re lucky enough to attend a retreat.
Of course, you could always finish the design as a little pillow, or frame it in a little frame (this would be so darling!)
My model was stitched on 36-count “Toasted Mallow” from the ever wonderful Nicola at Number12StitchCo using Gentle Arts, Classic Colorworks and Weeks Dye Works. A full DMC conversion is included.
This is one of three new releases, available to order from your local or online needlework store. Please ask them to order for you – as a small designer outside of the US, stores will only order if you ask!
Many thanks and happy stitching!
